The Art Beyond Certified Teaching Artist Program is a professional development program designed for artists, musicians, writers, performers, and creatives who want to develop their skills as teaching artists. The program includes training, mentorship, hands-on teaching experience, and networking opportunities.
This program is open to creative individuals from any discipline who want to teach and facilitate creative experiences. Applicants should have a regular creative practice and be eager to develop or refine their skills as a teaching artist.
Applicants must: ✔ Be at least 18 years old ✔ Have a regular creative practice in any discipline ✔ Be legally authorized to work in the U.S. ✔ Be able to attend all scheduled sessions (both virtual & in-person)
No! This program is designed for both aspiring and experienced teaching artists. If you have a strong creative practice and a desire to teach, this program will provide the skills and support you need.

The program lasts 10 weeks and includes a mix of virtual and in-person training sessions, independent teaching experiences, and mentorship opportunities.
Yes, applicants must submit examples of their creative work as part of the application process. This helps us understand your artistic background and how it might translate into teaching.
Applications are reviewed by a panel of experienced professionals. Finalists may be invited for a short interview, and selected participants will receive detailed onboarding instructions.
Participants must commit to attending:
Weekly virtual meetings (approx. 2 hours each)
Several in-person training sessions
Independent teaching experiences with partner organizations
Missing more than two sessions may impact certification eligibility.
Participants will complete two independent teaching experiences:
Assist in a class/workshop led by a partner organization.
Design & facilitate your own workshop with support from program mentors.
The 2025 cohort was fully funded by the Infusion Fund and its generous donors, covering program development, materials, and stipends.
Funding for future cohorts may vary. Some participants may need to cover their own tuition, though we are actively seeking sponsorship opportunities to maintain accessibility.
