Welcome to the FTM Participant Portal

Guide to your portal

All handouts from our in-person training on August 29th, as well as additional resources, are available in the FTM Participant Drive-2026 Cohort Google Drive. You have been granted access to the Drive using the email address you shared in your application.

If you have any trouble accessing the Drive, please email info@artbeyond.org or programming@upcycleartsclt.org for assistance.

Week 1: August 30-September 5 

  • Review what you learned on August 29th

  • Explore your art and identify what you enjoy creating

  • Start or update social media/website - Introduce yourself, what got you creating, and say that you are a participating maker for this program

  • Review Slides and Handouts from August 29th Training

Week 2: September 6-12

  • Explore your art and hone in on what you enjoy creating

  • Identify your ideal customer

  • Social Media - Share your workspace

  • Complete Week 2 Worksheet: Basics of Marketing Guide

Week 3: September 13-19

  • Make a list of supplies/materials and order

  • Identify your stand out product(s)

  • Social Media - In progress video/photos

  • Complete Week 3 Worksheet: Market Vending 101** 

 

September 15 | 7-8:30 PM | Virtual | Market Vending 101 with Ayla Thompson from Finds & Reminds

**Materials will be emailed to you on the day of class

Week 4: September 20-26

  • Start building inventory

  • Finalize booth set up, main signage, and make/buy materials

  • Order/make packaging materials 

  • Social Media - Showcase a product and a little about it

  • Week 4: Inventory Spreadsheet**

**Inventory Sheet and accompanying materials to be emailed the week of

Week 5: September 27-October 3

  • Continue building inventory and adding to Week 4 Inventory Spreadsheet

  • Order branded merch or reproductions for sale (stickers, prints, etc.)

  • Create a QR code that helps people find you online

  • Identify how you will clearly display pricing

  • Make/order business cards

  • Social Media - Aesthetic close up pictures of creations

  • Week 5: QR Code Generation Resources

Week 6: October 4-10

  • Continue building inventory and adding to Week 4 Inventory Spreadsheet

  • Start labeling inventory with prices 

  • Social Media - Introduce your creation like it's a person. What’s their personality like?

  • Complete Week 6: Labeling & Signage Checklist

Week 7: October 11-17

  • Continue building inventory and adding to Week 4 Inventory Spreadsheet

  • Set up payment methods

  • Test payment methods to make sure they work

  • Social Media - The truth about being a creative is…

  • Week 7: Payment Process Resources

Week 8: October 18-24

  • Complete inventory and adding to Week 4 Inventory Spreadsheet

  • Mock booth set up & take a photo so you know what to do on market day

  • Identify last minute gaps you can fill

  • Social Media - Share a tip, fun fact, technique etc. 

  • Complete Week 8 Worksheet: Master Packing Checklist

 

October 20 | 7-8:30 PM | Virtual | When to Make it Official: Business Structures with Esther Davidson from Art Beyond Foundation 
 

Week 9: October 25-31

  • Create QR code(s) for payment methods 

  • Get cash/change

  • Social Media - Share your favorite tools and why you use them

  • Complete Week 9 Worksheet: Market-day Emergency Kit Checklist

Week 10: November 1-6

  • Update master packing list

  • Practice packing your transport vehicle to see how everything will fit

  • Organize products

  • Social Media - Show the work behind a finished product

November 7th: 

  • Review the master packing list and make sure everything is set for tomorrow! 

  • Pack your transport vehicle if you can

November 8th: Market Day! Have fun and make some money!

  • Photograph your set up

  • Social Media - Story posts, share your day, post your set up
